A few fun pictures

We had a never ending Christmas break.  With one snow day before and two after, it ended up being almost three weeks long.  Poor Becca just couldn't wait one day and started walking around the house with her backpack, making sure everything was ready for when she'd finally be able to go back.

For Christmas I got an amazing calendar from Michael.  Each month is a new picture he created at school.

Can you explain to me how one can even sit like this?  And he stayed that way for like 10+ minutes!

This past week was Tim's birthday.  The kids were so excited to make him cards and give him a cake.  When he sat down to this, the math teacher in him couldn't resist asking the kids, "If I'm turning 35, then how many years does each of these 5 candles have to stand for?"

A Day At the Park

During tennis season we often go to the park by Tim's matches after school.  My kids love playing there.

Recently the boys have been playing Star Wars and this day Becca wanted to join.  Jon couldn't figure out how she could though because Princess Leia is the only girl.  She is a good guy but they were playing the bad guys.

I told Jon that maybe there were some girl bad guys and pointed out that many of them where helmets and maybe there are some girls under the helmets.  He was completely baffled by this idea and took a while to ponder this possibility.

Eventually they agreed to let her play but...

She of couse had already moved on to other things.

I simply can't believe how big these kids are getting.

I love them to pieces.

So while Tim coached his team

We were there to "watch" the match that day.

Orlando Trip Post #2

We were so blessed to have my dad offer up his time share for us to stay in in Orlando.  The place is absolutely gorgeous.  There are pools (yes plural), a playground, tennis courts, ping pong, and a giant chess set that my kids love.  This is the third time I've stayed there and we love it every time.  The first time was before my mom passed away and I found myself recalling a lot of memories of her while we were there.  I realize that I've come to a new place in my grief about loosing her.  The memories still sting as I miss her so much, but the loss is not so all consuming all the time that I found I was able to enjoy the memories too.  While I will always wish her back, I am so blessed by and thankful for the wonderful memories I have.

Even though we enjoyed the whole resort throughout the week, I only have pictures of the pool.  We brought along some water wings and they made Becca and Jon completely independent in the water which was fabulous!

Daddy weekend

Last weekend we had amazingly almost nothing away from home to do.  So we enjoyed a very peaceful family Saturday.  The boys especially had so much fun hanging out with Daddy.

Reading Bible stories

Playing video games

And following along with a chess game.
