I finally took my kids to one of the places from my childhood memory - Dutch Village. Yes, I am close to being 100% Dutch (my mom's side seems to hem and haw about some other nationality being in there somewhere, but nobody seems able to nail anything down). So that makes my kids about 47% Dutch or something. But after living through tulip time here in Holland I see that you can really just become Dutch by living in Holland, MI.
Anyway, back to the trip. The place was exactly like I had remembered. We wandered around some, watched the Dutch dancers, including one kicking off her wooden shoe, and Michael even went on the ride. We had lots of fun, although by the end it got cold and windy and the kids were so ready to go. Here are some shots, and for those who have been there, yes, I got a picture of the kids sitting in the stork pouch. :)

I'm surprised there isn't a forced trip for all DeJong inlaws. Maybe we'll have to go this summer.
